Meet the Cast

Carmen Tate (Mary Lennox)

Carmen Tate is excited to make her debut with TheatreWorks! She has also
enjoyed performing on stage at Actors Theatre, Derby Dinner Playhouse, Kentucky Opera and CenterStage. She recently was in a short film you can find at Carmen is also an ambassador for the Fund for the Arts, volunteers at Locust Grove as a historical interpreter and volunteers at the Kentucky Science Center. Carmen is a sixth grader with many hobbies including drawing, painting, making slime, playing board games and traveling with her family.

Josh O'Brien (Archibald Craven)

Josh O'Brien is proud to be back at TheatreWorks for such an endearing show. Regional credits include Titanic (Fleet/Wilder) with TheatreWorks of Southern Indiana, Monty Python's Spamalot! (Patsy), and 1776 (Richard Henry Lee) with Mind's Eye Theatre, Company (Bobby) and The Importance of Being Earnest (Jack) with The As Yet Unnamed Theatre Company, Pride and Prejudice (Darcy) with The Theatre Downstream and The Who's Tommy (Barker), Sweeney Todd (Pirelli), and Assassins (John Hinckley, Jr.) with CenterStage. Huge thanks to Chris and the Roseberrys for the opportunity. All love to Jen. Enjoy the show!

Natalie Minton (Lily)

This is Natalie’s third production with TheatreWorks of Southern Indiana, and she couldn’t be more thrilled! The Secret Garden has held a special place in her heart for years, and she is very thankful to help bring to life a role that is so meaningful to her. After completing a degree in Vocal Music from the University of Kentucky in 2015 and moving back to Louisville, Natalie says that she counts herself very lucky to have stumbled upon such a special theater filled with so much talent and respect for everyone involved. She was most recently seen in the Christmas Madrigal Feast & Celebration as a featured soloist, and as a daughter in Quilters with TheatreWorks. Other recent appearances include The Billy Goats Gruff with the Schmidt Opera Outreach Program, Les Miserables, Don Giovanni, Grand Night, Phantom of the Opera, and Falstaff with the University of Kentucky Opera Theatre. Natalie would like to thank her family and friends for being the most beautiful support system she could imagine and for being so enthusiastic in helping her get back into the world of performing!

Jeremy O'Brien (Dr. Neville Craven)

Jeremy O’Brien is happy to be working with TheatreWorks for the first time. He was most recently seen as Andy in Bunbury Theatre's production of Greetings!. Other favorite credits include Eddie in Fool for Love (Salvage Theater), Adam Younger in The Faculty Room (Wayward Actors Company), Thomas Jefferson in 1776 (Mind’s Eye Theatre Company), and Algernon Moncrieff in The Importance of Being Earnest (As Yet Unnamed Theatre Company). Many thanks to Chris and Hannegan for the opportunity to work with such a great group of creators! To many more! All love to Sydney.

Olivia Manning (Martha)

Olivia Manning (Martha) is delighted to perform in her first production with TheatreWorks! Olivia is a freshman at DuPont Manual/YPAS. Favorite roles include Alice in The Best Christmas Pageant Ever! (StageOne), Little Red in Into the Woods (CenterStage), and the Star-to-Be in Annie (Clarksville Little Theater). Many thanks to Bundy and Hannegan for this opportunity!

Taylor Lockhart (Dickon)

Taylor Lockhart is brand new to the TheatreWorks stage and is excited to join the cast of The Secret Garden as Dickon. He is a Junior at Floyd Central High School where he performs in the theatre department (Newsies, Matilda, Legally Blonde). In his free time Taylor likes to write plays, short stories, and blogs for websites.  

Lee Gibson (Ben Weatherstaff)

Lee is very excited and grateful to once again be in a TheatreWorksofSOIN production, having last been seen in A Man of No Importance. He was most recently on stage with Mind’s Eye Theatre’s production of Children of Eden. Lee is a regular performer with Mummers and Minstrels and Young Hearts Theatre, sings with The Gilbert & Sullivan Society of Louisville and leads worship at his church. Lee is a student at Derby City Voice Studio. He is grateful to his wife, Carol, for her love and for supporting his theater dream.

Carol T. Williams (Mrs. Medlock, Dreamer)

One of Carol Williams favorite songs is Gypsy as sung by Stevie Nicks. Through the years Carol has indeed been a theatrical gypsy in her work around the Indiana/Kentucky area and in her second home in Maine. Carol is always looking for interesting work that inspires her such as: Vivian Bearing in WIT for both Pleaides and Centerstage, Eleanor in LION IN WINTER for SCCT, Katharine in Mothers and Sons  for Pandora Productions, Hannigan in Annie for Music Theatre Louisville, Sarah in Quilters for SCCT and Bunbury Theatre, Fraulein Schneider in Cabaret for Centerstage, Baba Yaga in Fairy Tale Adventures for Theatre 502, Martha Watson in Irving Berlins White Christmas for Derby Dinner, Mother in Kiss of the Spider Woman   for Pandora Productions, Hazel Hunt in Radio Gals for Bunbury Theatre, Peggy in As It Is In Heaven for Everyman Repertory  in Rockland, Maine. After all that is what Gypsies do!

Finnegan Broyles (Colin)

Finnegan Broyles is delighted to be making his debut with TheatreWorks! Finnegan is a 4th grader at Virginia Chance Elementary and has most recently performed as Oliver in Oldham County Arts Center's "Oliver", as Bruce in Floyd Central High School's "Matilda", as Michael Banks in Stephen Foster Story's "Mary Poppins", and as Jonathan in "A Christmas Carol - The Musical" at Derby Dinner Playhouse. Finnegan would like to thank his family for their love and support, as well as his directors, coaches, and fellow actors, and to Chris Bundy and Hannegan Roseberry for this opportunity.

Brooks Roseberry (Colin)

Brooks Roseberry has been singing, dancing, and acting since he was 3 years old and loves theatre, film, musical instruments, and reading. Brooks has appeared in feature films alongside Olivia Colman, Walton Goggins, Jon Voight, Dee Wallace, and Jim Gaffigan. Thank you, TheatreWorks, for this opportunity. He is represented by Heyman Talent Agency. 

Jessica Kayrouz Ray (Rose Lennox)

Jessica is grateful to be part of another production at TheatreWorks. She started singing on stage at ten and fell in love with sharing the joy of theatre instantly. She is proud to call herself one of Chris’ “kids” from the Floyd Central Theatre Program. Jessica also enjoys singing in studio, at her church and ending the evenings with a lullaby to her amazing kids Emma and Olivia.  She would like to thank her husband and family for their encouragement and support.

John Broyles (Captain Albert Lennox)

John Broyles is delighted to be making his debut with TheatreWorks! John has most recently performed in productions of The Little Mermaid, Mary Poppins, and Cat On A Hot Tin Roof at CenterStage, returning after a long hiatus from theatre and savoring the opportunities to share the stage with his son Finnegan (Colin). 

Sharon Grabowski (Mrs. Winthrop, Dreamer)

Sharon Grabowski is pleased to be back with her friends at Theatreworks as Mrs. Winthrop in the Secret Garden. She most recently appeared there as Miss Crowe in Man of No Importance and as Mrs. Isadore Straus in Titanic, the Musical. As a gardener Sharon fully appreciates the restorative power of the garden. Each Spring bring new life and an opportunity to start anew!

Colleen McGuirk (Alice)

Colleen is thrilled to play the role of Alice in "The Secret Garden." She was most recently seen as a "Daughter" in "Quilters." She also played the role of “Goldie” in “Two by Two” and the roles of Kate McGowan and Madeleine Astor in “Titanic” at Theatreworks. Some of her favorite past roles are Marian Paroo in "The Music Man" and Yum Yum in "The Mikado." She is a graduate of Indiana University where she was a four year member of the “Singing Hoosiers” and toured with them internationally in Australia. She studies voice at Derby City Voice Studio. Colleen teaches at Mount Tabor Elementary. She would like to thank her family, friends and boyfriend for their support.

Gary Crockett (Lieutenant Wright) 

Gary wants to thank Chris Bundy along with Hannegan and Jason Roseberry for this opportunity to add TheatreWorks to the list of theatres he has performed in all around Kentuckiana for many years. He has held leading roles in musicals such as HMS Pinafore, The King and I, South Pacific, and Oklahoma, as well as dramas such as Laura, On Golden Pond, To Kill A Mockingbird, and Cat On A Hot Tin Roof. No matter what show or role, he just loves the stage! Each experience is unique and fun, especially working with a very talented group like this one and making new theatre friends! 

Rusty Henle (Lieutenant Shaw)

Rusty Henle (Lt. Shaw) is thrilled to join Theatreworks for the first time reveling in sharing this healing piece of theater with such a talented group of people. Locally, he has performed with CenterStage at JCC, Pandora Productions, Derby Dinner Playhouse, Kentucky Opera, and Music Theatre Louisville. Favorite credits include: The Sound of Music (Captain); Falsettos (Whizzer); Best Little Whorehouse in Texas (Sheriff); A Man of No Importance (Baldy); Little Shop of Horrors (Mushnik & Dentist); 1776 (Edward Rutledge); and Company (Harry). Rusty is proud to work as an Occupational Therapist with children.

Jesse Brown (Major Shelley)

Jesse Brown is making his TheatreWorks debut and is excited to be performing alongside such good friends – old and new! You may recognize Jesse from such films as Encino Man, The Mummy, and Monkeybone. Sadly, you’d be mistaken, because that was Brendan Fraser, and really, there’s not that much resemblance. You’re bad with faces, aren’t you? Actual favorite roles include Arnold Wiggins (Boys Next Door), Estragon (Waiting for Godot), and Willum Cubbert (The Nerd). Thanks for coming and enjoy the show!

Shelby Loop (Mrs. Shelley)

This is Shelby’s first time back on stage since she first worked with Director Chris Bundy at Floyd Central High School. She is excited to be returning to the theatre and hopes to be in more productions at Theatreworks in the future.

Richard Ryan (Major Holmes)

Richard Ryan is pleased to be returning to the TheatreWorks stage. Richard is a veteran of 30 years of stage performing in the Kentuckiana area in professional and community theatre, the Kentucky Opera, and The Stephen Foster Story. Richard also has 40 years of vocal performing in churches across the United States. Richard lives in Sellersburg, IN with his wife Cathy, and they have three adult children, Briner, Jonathan and Jenna. His favorite role at TheatreWorks was Captain E.J.Smith in Titanic, The Musical.  He wishes to thank Chris Bundy, Hannegan Roseberry, the cast and crew.

Jenna Ryan (Claire Holmes)

Jenna is thrilled to be returning to Theatreworks! A theatre and Spanish language graduate, she has worked with several local theatre companies, as well as the Glimmerglass Opera Festival in Cooperstown, New York. Favorite roles include Rosie in Mamma Mia, Sister Mary Downy in Disaster, Amy in Company, and Hope in Urinetown. She currently works with Five-Star Technology Solutions to create awesome learning experiences for kids. 

Emily Grimany (Dreamer)

Emily Grimany is excited to return to the stage after trying her hand at stage management with Looking for Lilith. Some of her recent credits include Quilters, Mrs. Curtin in A Man of No Importance, Ashley in Backstage Secrets, Betsy in Sweet Charity, Rhoda in White Christmas, and Kathy in Company. When not on stage, Emily works as a braille transcriber, and enjoys dancing with her husband and daughter. She would like to thank her husband for always encouraging and supporting her.  

Brittani Shafer (Dreamer)

Brittanni is excited to return to the TheatreWorks Southern Indiana stage as a Dreamer. She was most recently seen as customer/ensemble in A Man of No Importance. The performing arts have had her heart since she was a young girl. Some of Brittanni’s most favorite roles include: Rose (The Secret Garden), Dorothy (The Wizard of Oz), Sarah (The Diviners), Hodel (Fiddler on the Roof), and Sarah (God’s Favorite). She is a middle school inclusion teacher at River Valley Middle School during the daytime hours, directs their theatre department, coaches the swim/dive team, and working on her masters in education. Brittanni would like to thank her fellow cast & crew for all of their hard work during this journey as well as her amazing friends, family, and most importantly her Nana, for all of their support. Much love to her theatre fam!
